10 things you can do without skis in Myrkdalen

Myrkdalen is well known for being a skiers paradise, but it is so much more! Here are 10 things you can do in Myrkdalen when your legs need a rest from the slopes.

1.Guided snowshoe hike to the wilderness camp

Join us on an idyllic snowshoe trip through the snow-covered landscape in Myrkdalen. We put on our snowshoes at Myrkdalsstovo and walk into the lavvu at the wilderness camp in Årmotslia. Here, we gather around the bonfire in the lavvu and enjoy warm drinks, snacks, and storytelling about Norwegian culture and traditions before we return to Myrkdalen.

2. Sledding

Great fun for the entire family! Join us for an exiting trip with a snow racer from the top of the chair lift Myrkdalsekspressen! We will take the last lift to the top and enjoy the empty slopes down to Myrkdalen Hotel. Hot drinks will be served half way.

During the holiday weeks Hardanger Husky will come to Myrkdalen and offer dog sledding tours in a 4 km long slope next to Myrkdalen Camping. Here you and your family can control your own dog sled in the stunning winter terrain next to Myrkdalsvatnet lake.

Join the worlds most beautiful railway journey from Flåm to Myrdal return. The route goes from the fjord to 860 metres above sea level. The Flåm Railway offers a great variety: From a stunning fjord landscape down at sea level to wild mountains with snow-capped peaks. Through lush pastures and historical traditions dating back to pagan times. It takes approximately two hours from Flåm - Myrdal return.

9. Grilling and campfire coziness in a lean-to

On weekends and every day during the holidays throughout the winter season, we light up the fireplace in the lean-tos. It's a cozy spot to gather and grill sausages and marshmallows. . You will find three of these Norwegian gapahuk in the area - at the Square, by the forest slopes near the children's area, and up the hill, just above the Myrkdalsekspressen ski lift.
