Off-piste skiing

More snow falls in Myrkdalen than almost anywhere else in Europe, which makes our destination very desirable for everyone who likes to ski off-piste.

Myrkdalen is called snow sure paradise - with good reason!

We have a lot of terrain for off-piste skiing - easily accessible from the lifts. At the top of the resort you'll find open areas for off-piste skiing, right next to the lifts. If you traverse a little from the ski lifts, you can find untouched snow several days after last snowfall. At the lower part of the resort, you'll find fun tree skiing - a great option on days with poor visibility.

Skiing with an off-piste guide
Our qualified guides know where the best snow is and have local knowledge and make all the important decisions in the right situations, so you can enjoy your freeride day to the fullest. The Ski School only has ISIA internationally approved ski instructors, which means that they always follow the latest guidelines within avalanche safety etc.

Just remember
While skiing you are responsible for yourself and your friends. Be especially careful on days when the avalanche danger is moderate and high. There is a training area for avalanche transceivers at the ski resort, feel free to use it! And do not hesitate to contact the ski patrol if there is an avalanche situation.
