With ski in - ski out facilities from Myrkdalen Hotel, it’s a breeze getting into the slopes for you and your family. The kids’ area lies at the very base of the ski resort, with easy access from the apartments, hotel and car park.
Clear lines of sight and a wide open slope make this the perfect place to learn how to ski. With the button- and magic carpet lifts, getting to the top of the slope is an easy and enjoyable experience for first-time skiers.
There are also fun tree runs next to the slope, perfect for the most adventurous little ones.
On weekends and holidays throughout the winter season there are many consistent activities and events for children.

Myrkdalen is amongst the highest scoring ski resorts when it comes to snow fall measurements in Norway. The terrain around the resort is perfect for freeskiing, with easy access from the lifts to big areas fit for powder riding.

Joyful Cross-country Skiing
Whilst vacationing in Myrkdalen, you can also experience relaxing cross-country or mountain skiing on 30 km perfectly groomed trails, right across from the ski resort.
The area is great for training enthusiasts and families that want to play in the snow with skis on, drink hot chocolate and spend some quality time together.
Biggest Park Area in Western Norway
Myrkdalen has become known for having great park areas, perfect for those who want to do a bit more than just ski alpine slopes. This year we have four parks where you’ll find jumps, boxes and rails in all sort of shapes and sizes. New this year, is our "Adventure Slope", The park is like a roller coaster on snow, with fun park elements for kids and adults.
Tasty food and drinks
A deep love for gastronomy and use of local ingredients define the kitchen at Myrkdalen Hotel. All dishes are made from scratch and most of the ingredients are delivered from local farmers.
At the hotel you will find three different restaurants with à la carte, fondue and home made pizza, as well as three cafés for people who want to grab a quick bite to eat and get back onto the slopes.
Experience Unique Accommodation
In the forest below the Storhaug express lift, lies ‘Tråfjosen’. This converted wooden barn used to be home to milking cows dating back hundreds of years.
Inside the cattle barn, the stalls are still intact, with beautiful slate that separates one from the other. In the south end of the barn, a module has been installed where four adults can sleep. The window creates a three-dimensional feeling; this is the only thing that indicates that the old wooden barn has changed and gives a modern look to the south facing facade. This is truly a unique, charming and modern stay - that you can experience all year round.
Take the train to Voss
Getting to Voss is easy breezy, jump on the train from Oslo or Bergen - when arriving in Voss there’s a free bus at the station, that will take you to Myrkdalen. Driving from Bergen to Myrkdalen takes under two hours and from Oslo, about five hours (quickest route is over the Hemsedal mountain Oslo - Voss).
